Almost 300 passengers on a direct flight from Sweden’s capital Stockholm arrived at Phu Quoc airport in the southern province of Kien Giang on March 8th. This promises a large number of tourists who will visit Phu Quoc this year. Because Phu Quoc has policy to exempt visa for tourists on direct flights to this beautiful island.
According to the Airports Corporation of Viet Nam, after a fact-finding trip at the Phu Quoc airport, the Swedish partner decided to open a direct air route to the island in March under charter flights.
The flight on March 8th is the first of three scheduled direct flights carrying passengers from northern Europe to Phu Quoc in March 2016. As planned, there will be weekly flights from December 2016 to April 2017.(Image and news from Vietnamtourism and saigontimes)
