VIETNAM GRAND JOURNEY – 18 DAYS

Departure: Hanoi

Destinations: Hanoi - Halong Bay - Ninh Binh - Mai Chau - Phong Nha - Hue - Hoian - Ho Chi Minh - Mekong Delta

Trip overview

An in-depth traverse of Vietnam from north to south, allowing time to explore each region in comfort. A two-night cruise in Ha Long Bay is followed by the limestone landscapes of Ninh Binh and a homestay in the terraced valley of Mai Chau, before the journey turns to Phong Nha’s UNESCO-listed cave systems and the historic Demilitarized Zone near Dong Hoi. In Hue and Hoi An, imperial heritage and countryside village life come together, while the final stretch through Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta closes the journey with the energy of the south and the gentle rhythm of the river. Throughout, the pace is generous, allowing each destination its due time rather than rushing between highlights.

A seafood lunch is served on board, with vegetarian dishes available on request, followed by a sampan ride through a traditional floating fishing village. Back on board, join a short cooking demonstration, then relax on the sun deck as the sun sets over the bay before dinner is served.

The remainder of the evening is at your leisure. You may play cards, try your hand at squid fishing, watch a film, or simply enjoy a drink and good conversation at the bar. Overnight on board.

DAY 11
Hue - Countryside Activities

Board a boat for a cruise along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda, built in 1601 and one of Hue’s enduring symbols.

Continue with a cycling excursion through Thuy Bieu Village, known for its fragrant pomelo orchards, stopping at village schools, communal houses, ancient temples and traditional garden houses characteristic of the Nguyen Dynasty era.
