Dalat Railway Station

Dalat Railway Station was built between 1932 and 1938 during the French colonial era and is one of the oldest remaining stations in Vietnam. The building features Art Deco architecture combined with Central Highlands elements, most notably the stylized three-pointed roof inspired by ethnic Rong houses. It once served the 84-kilometer Phan Rang – Da Lat railway, famous for its rare cogwheel track system designed for steep terrain. Although the full railway is no longer in use, the station itself has been well preserved. Today, it stands as a fascinating historical landmark, reflecting a bygone era.

Inside the station, visitors will find vintage decor including an old wall clock, classic ticket counters, and an original display train car. One of the highlights is the short 7-kilometer scenic train ride from Dalat Station to Trai Mat, passing flower fields and peaceful villages. This experience is popular among tourists seeking a tranquil view of old-fashioned Da Lat. The area around the station is also a favorite photography spot thanks to its nostalgic and retro atmosphere. The setting evokes the romantic charm of Da Lat from decades past.
