Trip overview
From Lao Cai border you can buy some personal things or go supermarket with many products from China. We can access to Sapa, Y Ti or continue to Dien Bien Phu and explore entire North West of Vietnam. Lunch in Lao Cai is very good and variety along Red river An Duong Vuong street may be Bo Luc Lac is good, we had !
Stay in Y Ti very simple for adventure and experience travel there are 2 homestays here to with share floor or private but very basic (require to prepare sleeping bags for more convenient). During a long trip you should take medical bath from tribe people here and fresh up in limit hot water shower. Contact Mrs Si or Ms My houses to stay and book meals, there are few small restaurant near by good is Yen The restaurant.
Tour itinerary
We will departure today about 06:30 after breakfast at hotel with some stop along the way for break with a tea or coffee. Upon arrive Lao Cai you will visit Coc Leu market have an overview of border to China, purchase something you may need and have lunch. Latest time to leave Lao Cai is 13:30 for Y Ti, the drive along the red river border about 32km and you will start enjoy beautiful landscape of rice from here toward Y ti include Alu, Ngai Thau, Ngai Thau Thuong. Overnight in Y Ti
A simple breakfast you can find here noodle soup or rice (No bread we found during my inspection trip here). The trip continue to Muong Hum Sunday market where you can meet and capture a life time of many hill tribe peoples in the market. Today you will end up in Sapa after a spectacular view from O Quy Ho peak, overnight in Sapa.
Today you will enjoy a day walking out off the track to visit Ma Tra & Ta Fin village where are home of Red Dzao people leaving. Our guide will bring you to visit some families to know more about their culture and traditional. The walking is existing throughout the crop terrace or rice terrace among simple house roofs toward villages. if you come between Aug - Oct the rice terrace will made a wonderful picture of mountainous in Vietnam. Our car will pick you up on return to Sapa to taste some local beers or grills dishes in town (This is not included in tour price)
Today you will take a soft trek to Cat Cat village about 3 kilometres away from town take you about 3 hours walking to visit H’Mong minority people who first lived in Vietnam in the 17th & 18th centuries, then you’ll walk to Ham Rongmountain about 2 hours for a fabulous overview of Sapa town. After lunch you will return to Hanoi about 6 hours drive.
