Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in many different species of animals, including camels, cattle, cats, and bats. Rarely, animal coronaviruses can infect people and then spread between people such as with MERS and SARS. Vietnam Tourism’s proactive action in controlling the impact of the Corona Virus Desease (COVID-19)

Temporarily suspending entry to Vietnam for people coming from or going through epidemic areas like Korea, Japan, Italy, Iran and some countries.


  Foreign Office:
- Immediately notify Korea and other countries and territories where COVID-19 epidemic is being imposed on measures to prevent and control epidemics that Vietnam has applied, including suspending entry into Vietnam for people coming from or leaving Vietnam. through epidemic areas, for those who enter for official purposes in special cases, they must have medical declaration and concentrated isolation for 14 days as prescribed.
- Notify Vietnamese citizens not to epidemic areas in other countries, except in case of necessity, if they still go, when they enter Vietnam, they will have to be concentrated in isolation for 14 days as prescribed.
- Vietnam isolates Vietnamese people from the epidemic-affected areas, carefully monitors health and serves food and drinks that meet military standards.
- For international visitors coming to Vietnam from the epidemic area, compulsory medical isolation for 14 days is required at the local health facility.

   The United States put Vietnam off the list of potential COVID-19 infections to the community
 
   The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has just removed Vietnam from the list of areas at risk of COVID-19 transmission to the community. This move took place immediately after all 16/16 patients infected with COVID-19 in Vietnam were completely cured.

   Today, in a meeting with the Vietnamese Embassy in the US, the CDC representative said that based on the effectiveness of disease control in Vietnam, the US decided to remove Vietnam from the list of countries that have risk of COVID-19 infection. The CDC previously provided a three-level alert classification and an area that is at risk of COVID-19 infection. Currently, China and South Korea are on the list of the highest and third level warnings. Vietnam is not in the above alert levels.

   CDC has highly appreciated Vietnam's medical capacity as well as effective cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology and a number of Vietnam's major hospitals in sharing information and experiences. and cooperation in disease prevention. The CDC is expected to send a mission to Vietnam in March 2020 to discuss cooperation and the establishment of a regional CDC Office in Vietnam.

   On the afternoon of February 19, the Ministry of Health announced that a 3-month-old child in Vinh Phuc with Covid-19 had recovered and was discharged from the hospital tomorrow (February 20).    This is the 15th case of Covid-19 infection in our country and is the youngest infected patient. Patient infected with corona virus from grandmother P.T.B. (residing in Son Loi commune, Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc province).

   The World Health Organization (WHO) said on February 17 that the new corona virus (Covid-19) only caused mild illness in 80% of patients.The number of deaths due to Covid-19 has surpassed 1,800 cases in China, where the virus has infected more than 70,500 people.   
    Speaking to reporters, WHO head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that 14% of patients would suffer from serious illnesses like pneumonia.('About 5% of cases are considered critical with symptoms of multiple organ failure, septic shock and respiratory failure and, in some cases, deaths).

   The health of 3-month-old babies infected with Covid-19 is progressing well.Because this is the first case of COVID-19 children of VietNam, the Center staff always consulted and regularly reported on the situation of children on the Sub-Committee for Treatment and the Ministry of Health.    Authorities in the northern Vietnamese province of Vinh Phuc have decided to seal off an entire commune of 10,600 people in an effort to control the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic.

   803 Chinese died of Corona virus, exceeding the number of deaths from SARS in 2002-2003. China recorded an additional 81 deaths from acute respiratory infections caused by the new strain of the Corona virus (2019-nCoV), bringing the total number of deaths in China to 803.

   Also according to the announcement, the number of new confirmed cases is 2,147, bringing the total number of nCoV virus infections across China to over 36,690 people.

   The Ministry of Health has just announced the case of the 13th patient in Vietnam who tested positive for corona virus. Remarkably, the patient has no symptoms.The female patient identified as NTN (29 years old), living in Thien Ke commune, Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc province, is one of a group of eight people that Nihon Plast company sent to Wuhan City to train and return home on the 17-01.
   Ministry of Health said, at present, this case is being isolated at Tam Dao District Health Center and in good health, there is no manifestation of fever or cough. Thus, up to now, Vietnam has had 13 people with acute respiratory infection caused by new strain of corona virus, including 8 people in Vinh Phuc.

The Ministry of Health on 6/2 confirmed that 49-year-old and 16-year-old patients in Vinh Phuc were positive for nCoV, increasing the number of pneumonia in Vietnam to 12.
These two are the mother and younger sister of a 23-year-old female patient from Vinh Phuc, who is being isolated at the Central Tropical Hospital.

“Tourists are protected when travelling in HCM City”,
 

   HCM CITY — Around 100,000 surgical masks are being provided to tourists visiting HCM City between Sunday (February 2) and February 10, according to the city Department of Tourism.It is being done by the department in co-ordination with travel firms to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus and increase public awareness of the disease.With the message “Tourists are protected when travelling in HCM City”, the activity would continue until the epidemic ends if it receives more funds, Nguyễn Hùng Dũng, deputy chairman of the UNESCO Hà Nội Club, said.Each tourist will get a bag containing five to 10 masks at popular tourist attractions in the city such as the Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Independence Palace, War Remnants Museum and Opera House.Oleg Safonov, a visitor from the US, said he felt safe when travelling in HCM City though fears over the coronavirus outbreak have mounted.

It is a high risk from people travel to China or stop over in China

   For confirmed 2019-nCoV infections, reported illnesses have ranged from people with little to no symptoms to people being severely ill and dying.

Symptoms can include:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath

CDC believes at this time that symptoms of 2019-nCoV may appear in as few as 2 days or as long as 14 after exposure. This is based on what has been seen previously as the incubation period of MERS viruses.

   Corona virus (2019-nCoV) starts from Wuhan China and rapidly spreading out around the world to United State, France, Japan, South Korea, Thailand… and Vietnam. As on 30 Jan updated there are 5 effected in Vietnam including 2 people from China. On 28th Jan one people from China have positive test against the virus, he getting back to normal and suppose to leave the hospital soon.    Advised from WHO 
   WHO’s standard recommendations for the general public to reduce exposure to and transmission of a range of illnesses are as follows, which include hand and respiratory hygiene, and safe food practices:

   Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water;
When coughing and sneezing cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – throw tissue away immediately and wash hands;
Avoid close contact with anyone who has fever and cough;
 
   If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing seek medical care early and share previous travel history with your health care provider;
 
   When visiting live markets in areas currently experiencing cases of novel coronavirus, avoid direct unprotected contact with live animals and surfaces in contact with animals;
The consumption of raw or undercooked animal products should be avoided. Raw meat, milk or animal organs should be handled with care, to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked foods, as per good food safety practices.
