E-Visa or visa letter with stamping on arrival Vietnam
As of now, citizens from 25 countries can visit Vietnam without a visa, with a maximum stay of 45 days.
Specifically, the government has unilaterally exempted visa requirements for citizens from 14 countries: Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Belarus, allowing them to stay for up to 45 days for arrivals starting August 15, 2023.
From March 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, visa exemptions will also be granted to passport holders from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland.
Additionally, the government has established bilateral visa exemption agreements for ordinary passport holders from 12 countries: Chile, Panama, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Brunei, and Myanmar.
Vietnam fully reopened its borders to foreign tourists on March 15, 2022, becoming the first country in Southeast Asia to take this step. However, the recovery of the tourism industry has been slower compared to other countries in the region.
