Asia contributed nearly 80% of the total number of international visitor arrivals to Viet Nam. The four major markets in Northeast Asia, including China, South Korea, Taiwan (China), and Japan, contributed nearly 60%.
Among the 10 largest markets for Viet Nam tourism, South Korea was the biggest with 3.7 million arrivals (accounting for 26.4%). China ranked second, recording 3.0 million arrivals (accounting for 21.3%), followed by Taiwan (China), US, Japan, Australia, India, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Thailand.
Northeast Asia markets drove the recovery of international arrivals to Viet Nam. In which, China visitors were up 130.4% over the same period in 2023, South Korea (+28.5%), Japan (+24.8%) and Taiwan (China) (+59.4%).
Southeast Asian markets grew well, such as Indonesia (+85.5%), the Philippines (+64.5%), Laos (+13.9%), Cambodia (+12.1%) and Singapore (+7.7%). Only Thailand decreased by 13.3%. India continued to grow impressively (+29.1%).
European visitors increased positively thanks to the effectiveness of Viet Nam's open visa policies applied from 15 August 2023. Rapid growth was recorded in most major markets, including the UK (+20.4%), France (+30.5%) and Germany (+23.6%), Italy (+54.5%), Spain (+23.3%), Russia (+81.5%), Denmark (+21.7%), Norway (+16.2%), Sweden (+24.9%).
