Mandalay is the second largest city of Myanmar, and used to be the last royal capital of the country before turning into a republic union. It's a large city that has a typical Southeastern feel, but once you dig deeper you will notice old Bamar culture, the dominant ethnic group in Myanmar, in the many buildings and pagodas as well as the people.

With many religious sites, some adorned with gold either inside or outside, some made of wood, the royal palace and bustling street, Mandalay is definitely a sight that should be visited while traveling in Myanmar.
