Inle Lake Overview
Within the Shan hills, that are an extension of the Shan Mountains at an altitude of 900 meter, the Inle Lake, with its blue waters is located. One of the most magical sights in Southeast Asia, the lake, home to the native Inthas, sons of the lake, that live in stilt houses with their neatly cultivated floating farms and nurseries.
The fisherman and leg-rowers are what makes the Inle Lake unique, which makes for a picturesque view on a dreamy boat ride through its waters. Many ethnic groups live in this area that all have their own culture and traditions. In the middle of the lake is the famous Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, that both foreign and local pilgrims visit in October for its annual festival
