Nam Cat Tien National Park Overview
Within the lowlands of Southern Vietnam, just 160 kilometers away from Ho Chi Minh City, Cat Tien National Park has its 71,920 hectares of seasonal tropical woodland, bamboo forest, grasslands and wetlands. The biodiversity of this area is plentiful, with 1,610 species of plants, 105 different kinds of mammals, 315 species of birds, around 120 diverse reptilians, 130 types of fish and over 450 different insects.
Many animals that used to be widespread among Vietnam now seek shelter within this special protected area. However, many of these mammals will not show themselves to visitors that often so do not think the experience of this park will be similar to a zoo. Close by is an archaeological site with temples that are quite interesting for a quick visit.
