Sapa Overview

Sapa is both a town and a district of the Lao Cai Province in Northwestern Vietnam. This region is one of the most visited destination in Northern Vietnam. The town looks picturesque, especially in the morning when there are low clouds that hover above the area.

People come here to visit not only the hill tribe villages but also the surrounding mountainous area that strikes the hearts of many. The scenery, the small villages scattered across the rice terraces on the various mountains and hills, the different ethnic groups that all have a different culture and interesting traditions, and the local markets that make the whole region feel like you take a step back in time and turn to the roots of human civilization.

The average temperature in Sapa is 15 degrees, during summer time 13 to 25 degrees from May to Sep, and winter time may be down to under 0 degrees occasionally with snow. The average rainfall 1.800 - 2.200mm from May to August.
